How can you help me improve my health?
My mission and passion is to help improve your gut and spine health through simple, attainable and easy techniques that you can implement in your everyday life. I want to improve your life and health span and increase your longevity and vitality. Understanding, listening and supporting the person with the health issue is at the forefront of my approach managing the health issue comes later. Together, we discover the root cause of an issue and work layer by layer to refuel, heal and thrive. Digestive disorders, internal inflammation and musculoskeletal pain are all linked. I can help you break free from these debilitating disorders to live your life rather than exist in it.
Please share a health transformation story from one of your recent clients.
The reason I have focused on the link between gut and spine health is through a patient I was helping who came to me with whole body pain on a daily basis, which was affect her ability to move during the day and sleep at night. Through resetting her gut health, focusing on daily improvements to her lifestyle the pain, energy and sleep issues she was experiencing greatly improved.
What’s your approach? Why might I like working with you?
Rather than dealing with the issue from the start I get to know the person who has the issue. This means I can understand how they live their life, what changes they can implement in their lives so that they can see improvements with the health issues they are facing. Each client is dealt with on an individual basis.
What’s your story and why are you a Health Coach?
I have dealt with digestive disorders for a long time but just thought this was normal. I have always had a passion for learning about how my body responds and works and how diet and lifestyle have an affect on my physical and mental health. I wanted to learn more about how to deal with any mental and physical symptoms on a more holistic basis rather than on a medical basis, which is why I studied as a Health Coach. The approach resonated more with me.

I couldn’t recommend Nina more highly. She brought the best of both worlds – she is extremely qualified and knowledgeable, but not remotely judgemental or unrealistic with expectations. She understands that real life will sometimes intervene and we should embrace it. I came to her with some concerns and she quickly identified lifestyle and dietary factors which we worked on together to alter or add to. These changes were easy to implement and with her constant support it never felt daunting. I believe she really has set me up with better habits for life and the results have been undeniable. The daily messages during the programme are invaluable for motivation, and her food and recipe suggestions are simple, cheap and easy to implement. Thanks Nina, I will be recommending you to everyone.

I always knew what I should be eating, but putting that into practice seemed hard and unrealistic. My sweet tooth and afternoon snacking was a problem and I now realise how heavily I relied on carbs during the week for a quick and easy supper. Pasta and potatoes were my staple and toast and apple juice were my morning go to. My night time palpitations and sweats have eased I guess I am just giving myself food that my body is enjoying digesting and not having to work so hard to break down all the sugars etc. The thing that has previously confused me the most is having to watch my cholesterol and perhaps eating more carbs than fat to try and keep on top of this. The truth is less carbs and more protein make me feel better and I have realised that my achy joints and arthritic feeling in my hands every morning were more to do with food sugar than anything else. The meal planning advice and top tips you gave at the start were really helpful and I have enjoyed your morning motivational messages. Although I have always eaten a huge array of vegetables I have found myself creating new recipes and cooking new things which has been refreshing. Overall I have not found it nearly as hard as I thought I would as I was never hungry as the foods I have been eating have kept me sustained. The best thing for me has been breaking the cycle of bad habits in relation to snacking and being strict about having that square of dark chocolate for a sweet hit, rather than getting stuck into the biscuit tin. Being accountable to someone particularly you definitely helps when trying to stick to a healthy eating regime. I have lost weight, my love handles have definitely shrunk and I have really enjoyed waking in the morning without the immediate adrenaline rush of anxiety, thinking “what do I need to do, where do I need to be, who needs me” which is a horrid way to start the day. It is nice to wake up feeling calmer and not angry with myself that once again, I got stuck into the biscuit tin I felt slightly groggy in Week 2 and I am not sure whether that was my body getting used to the diet or just a low lying germ. Week 2 was definitely when I started to feel the weight loss. I feel excited that I have the tools to move forward and feel motivated to try and stick to the regime now that I have lost weight and have seen the benefits of reducing inflammation in such a short space of time. I am less spotty and blotchy and my skin has not felt as itchy.
